Ecommerce is now a well established area of everyday retail. As such, a significant portion of the revenue for both large and small companies now comes from online sales. Indeed some multimillion pound companies only sell goods online.
The advantages of ecommerce for retailers are the ability to sell 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and a much larger catchment area of customers. Usually an online shop will service the entire country while a physically shop will only service the local area. Online shops can easily extend their service to international buyers if the owner is willing to put the required delivery services into place.
Here at Ashfield Web Design we will create an ecommerce site where the shop area closely matches the look and feel of the rest of the site. This results in a more professional look and better shopping experience for the consumer. A professional looking site will translate into more sales since people assume that an unprofessional look also means lax security precautions. Consumers feel more comfortable entering their card details into a well designed ecommerce site.

Pages
The ecommerce package includes ten individual pages designed and produced to professional levels. This page number does not include the online shop which in itself could run to thousands of pages depending on the number of items in the shop.
All of our pages fully adhere to W3C XHTML / CSS standards meaning your pages have the highest possible chance of appearing optimally and correctly in all of currently used browsers on the PC and Mac.
Domain Name and Hosting
All of our packages include free domain name registry or free domain transfer if you already have a domain registered. The price of the ecommerce package includes hosting for two years as well as domain name registration for two years if the registration is undertaken by us.
The ecommerce package comes with fifteen unique email accounts but also includes catch all email which allows you to collect any email to your domain into one email account. For example, sending emails to any of the fifteen email addresses you specified will go to those accounts and those accounts only. Sending an email to anything else ending in your domain name e.g. anything@yourdomain.co.uk will go to your root email account.
Your POP3 email accounts can be accessed through Outlook Express and similar programs but also in any browser with hotmail style webmail. Webmail means you can access your email at anytime and from anywhere so long as you have access to the internet and a browser. This feature is perfect for people whose businesses don't confine them to the office.
Search engine optimisation and submission
Ashfield Web Design creates all of its web designs in-line with Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) techniques to provide our customers with maximised chances of obtaining a high search engine placement.
Forum
Depending on what your website is used for you may want to have your own discussion forums.
